Dania Trevelyan is the second child of Bann Trevelyan of Ostwick. When her aptitude for magic showed at a young age, she was taken to live in the Ostwick Circle of Magi. She lived well, enjoying a certain status due to her noble birth, and she was able to write home and receive letters from her family. She was a quiet, faithful young woman who was content within her gilded cage. She dreamed of seeing the world, and her goal, after passing her Harrowing, was to become an emissary for the Circle. It was a role her superiors agreed she could handle, given her lineage, so she learned politics as well as continued her studies.

The vote of the Circles to disband shattered her peaceful life and made her a rebel, even though her Circle had refused to take a side. When she was called upon to represent Ostwick's Circle at the Conclave, she accepted happily. Little did she know what the Conclave would bring.
